SPARKLES: SUPER DESTROY
Tuesday May 19, 2009
This zine comes with a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD COUPON for the newly compiled SUPER DESTROY collection feat. members of WHITE FANG who also associate with GNAR TAPES.
It can be found here.
Button Above for Super Destroy Zine + digital download of Sparkles for $10 + shipping.
Now I have also updated the shop pages to reflect the having made of this album for which LUCKY DRAGONS WHITE RAINBOW and ROB WALMART recorded. Available here. This is going up to $10 in a few days so cash in on the confused $4.40 pricepoint while you can.

Also:
We have some Megazord and some Tony Ortega (can I say Tony Ortega?) to distro up tomorrow. We’re getting new Kyle Field decks in tomorrow (a new version of the small town nut sneak peak) and later this week a totally new design (sneak peak) also from Kyle. New Privacy and Drakkar Sauna coming out in Julyish. And mixing the new Rob Walmart super disc now too. Dirty Projectors in Portland this Saturday night at the Roseland Theater. White Rainbow Sunday night at Holocene. New Davis Hooker, Chips, Lucky Dragons on their way as well. And a Brad Adkins tutorial. Love Carlos.

Aw! Mp3? I’ll buy it if it comes out on vinyl – or cd. Still can’t get myself to fork over dough for mp3s. I know, I’m weird that way. :-) Guess I’m an old fart. :-D

you can download it as a wav as well. which is the same audio file i’d be sending to the plant to press vinyl. still losing the experience of vinyl though, which is a wonderful experience, art, sides, weight, spin, etc.. and some of the frequency reduction forced by vinyl. which is also nice.
oh! but the wav file is the exact same as what would be on a cd.

Maybe Lars is talking not so much about quality but, like, how downloading mp3s is a free market? Dunno. Feel you Lars. Some people buy mp3s, it’s weird. Objects still rule.

i would never pay $10 for something i could pay $4.4 for.
objects do still rule.
i’d like to use these digital guys in a way that can help us share things quicker, and then maybe make slow objects eventually. just settling in to our tech. the sparkles zine is a nice hybrid.

$8 is what it should be. cheaper than itunes, but not cheapening the value of the work.
funny conversation to have in comments, about our back end, but i feel like we’re in this kind of awkward stage right now, of physical and digital releasing, with records, zines, books, cds, itunes, our own digital store and our digital coupon guy. be cool if our music shop was PHYSICAL (which includes a digital coupon) or DIGITAL (only) and that was it.
you know, we have stuff on coupe that’s not on our digital store, some things that are only on our digital store, some things on that and itunes, and some things on all three/four including physical.
just thinking of how to reduce these…
reuse. recycle.
hybridization. maybe it will be survival of the fittest.

It’s officially priced “right”. DASH! is still at $4 which I think is still a “great deal”. Both releases are well worth your time and currently available in our digital distributor’s provided digital shop which is getting a facelift soon. Yes!
